Laptop prices have come down a great deal recently due to the release of the new Intel Sandy Bridge and nVidia Optimus technologies. Battery life for laptops has also gotten a lot better. I have recently purchased a Lenovo T420 with a slice battery which boasts 24 hours of uptime. It’s getting to the point that desktops are only necessary for specific jobs…or to deter theft of computer equipment. It will be interesting to see how the popularity of tablets further changes the office technology landscape.
